Sarah McLean, the Institute’s Associate Director, announced that the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is supporting a partnership between the Colonie Police Department and the Finn Institute. The DCJS Criminal Justice Research Consortium funding supports the development, refinement, and evaluation of data-driven retail theft interventions. “Our partnership with the Colonie police began with support from Assembly Member Phil Steck for a current project examining vehicular collisions with pedestrians and bicycles on Central Avenue,” said Rob Worden, Director. “We are excited by the opportunity to expand our partnership to combat retail theft in New York,” McLean said.
