Project Trinity
In 2017, Syracuse developed plans to expand the city’s offender-focused programs. Project Trinity is a program of intervention services targeted toward high-risk youth with the goal of reducing or preventing gun violence. Trinity leverages the organizational structure developed to support Syracuse’s focused deterrence initiative, Syracuse Truce, and incorporates some features of focused deterrence. The Institute will serve as the Project Trinity research partner and in this capacity we will perform analyses to assist in the identification of Trinity-eligible youth and will monitor implementation and fidelity to the program model. We will assess Project Trinity impacts at the individual and aggregate level.
