Demonstration projects in two cities provide for more intensive investigations of non-fatal shootings in order to improve arrest and prosecution rates. The Institute is providing research support to both demonstration sites, with ongoing analysis to identify and describe program processes that facilitate or thwart best practices, feedback to each site to promote fidelity to project plans, a qualitative and quantitative process evaluation, and quantitative estimates of the impacts on investigative outcomes.
